Welcome to Horizon Elementary PTO! The PTO is a Parent and Teacher volunteer Organization. The mission of the Horizon Elementary PTO is to provide all students at Horizon the opportunity to excel in academics and in life by providing committed volunteers and supplemental funding for supplies and programs that will enhance the learning environment at Horizon Elementary.

The PTO sponsors events such as Scholastic Book Fairs, Harvest Fest, Bingo Night and Trivia Night. In addition, the PTO involves parents & guardians in helping earn money for Horizon by the following programs: Coke Rewards, Box Tops for Education, Spirit Wear and more!

The PTO meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM at Horizon, all are welcome. A quarterly newsletter is sent home with important information and reminders. Most PTO fliers are sent home on pastel colored paper, so keep an eye out for the pastels! You can also visit us on facebook for latest information.

Some great ways to find out more about Horizon are to attend the PTO meetings and volunteer when you can. The PTO meetings are a great way to find out more about teachers, the school and the district. Volunteering during the school day or at an event at night is a great way to get to know the other students and their parents. The parents you see at Open House in the fall, are the same parents you will see year after year, get to know them and their children!

We want all the students to have positive feelings about school, whether that comes during the school day or at an after school event at Horizon. We also try and make Horizon PTO events as cost friendly as we can, getting families together at school is the primary intention of our events.

We hope you will get involved with your child's school, studies show the more the parents/guardians are involved in school, the better the child does in school. The PTO along with the principal, Dr. Schwardt, ask that all parents commit to volunteering 3 hours over the school year at Horizon.
